Rich history in the town of Thetford

Thetford is a historical market town which is located in the
Breckland area of Norfolk, between London and Norwich. The small
town is known for being steeped in history.
One of the most inviting aspects for people who are looking to
relocate and may choose to live in
property for sale in Thetford is its connections to the big
cities through its road network. This means that people can live in
the relatively peaceful small market town, enjoying an almost rural
lifestyle, while still working in the big city.
The town is situated just off the A11 road, thanks to a bypass
which took the main traffic away from Thetford itself. It is
located just 28 miles from Norwich, and 86 miles from London,
making both accessible for people who work in the city.
Thetford Railway Station is also key to the town's links as trains
canbe used from there to reach Liverpool and Cambridge, as well as
a regular service to London King's Cross.
Historically, Thetford also has a lot to offer in terms of fact and
fiction. For example, it is the birthplace and one time hometown of
Thomas Paine, one of the founding fathers of the US. A statue of
him holding his book, Rights of Man, stands in the town.
Thetford was also the site of much of the filming for popular BBC
sitcom Dad's Army, and the flint based buildings of the town made
up the fictional town of Walmington-On-Sea. A statue of the show's
star Arthur Lowe sitting on a park bench was also erected in the
town.
So, for people looking to live in attractive, historic market town
while also still having the nearby large cities, Thetford in
Norfolk is a very viable option.
