Extra Christmas cover for homeowners from the Post Office

Extra Christmas cover for homeowners from the Post Office

The Post Office is offering its home insurance customers an early Christmas present, by increasing its contents cover by ten per cent throughout December.

According to the insurance provider, the festive period often means that people have more valuable gifts in their homes than at other times of the year.

Homeowners who have cover through the Post Office will not be charged any additional premiums and the level of protection will be automatically increased.

Richard Pennant-Jones, head of home insurance at the organisation, commented: "By automatically raising the level of cover over the Christmas period Post Office customers can enjoy the party season safe in the knowledge that their gifts are fully protected."

Additionally, any customers who purchase their combined home buildings and contents insurance in a branch will be eligible to receive a £25 winter fuel voucher or cash-back 60 days after taking out a policy.

In other home insurance news, AXA has warned that burst pipes could be just as much a threat to homes this Christmas as burglary.

According to the insurance company, more of its customers claimed for "escape of water" over December and January last year than for either fire or theft.ADNFCR-1222-ID-19503059-ADNFCR
