County Armagh tops price growth table

House price growth in County Armagh was the fastest in Britain last
year, according to new figures.
Halifax's County House Price Survey shows that the country recorded
growth of 331 per cent over the last 12 months.
The growth means the average property in the country is now priced
at £220,229.
Meanwhile, Cornwall and the Isle of Wight were revealed to be the
best performing English regions with growth of 266 per cent and 245
per cent respectively.
However, with five of the top ten performing counties in Ireland,
the country remains a key market for the potential investor.
Martin Ellis, chief economist at Halifax, said: "The counties
recording the best house price performance over the past ten years
have mainly been outside southern England.
"Four of the five counties with the highest house price growth are
in Northern Ireland reflecting the strength of the housing market
there over the past few years."
