Buyers advised to capitalise on new-build incentives

Those planning to buy a new home may wish to do so in the near
future, as an expert has suggested that existing incentives are
unlikely to last long.
Head of communications at the Home Builders Federation Steve Turner
explained that developers are offering assistance to buyers.
This is giving the new-build market an advantage, he said, since
second-hand sellers are unable to do the same.
However, Mr Turner observed that confidence is picking up -
particularly as mortgage availability is improving - and as the
market recovers "you may not see the range of incentives that we
are seeing on offer, so customers need to judge when they feel the
best time is to enter the market".
Earlier this month, Knight Frank revealed that sales of new-build
homes in London had increased 214 per cent in the fourth quarter of
2009, compared to the same period a year earlier.
