Buy to let landlords opting for corporate tenants

Buy to let landlords are increasingly seeking corporate tenants, it
has been claimed.
According to a survey of 140 landlords conducted by the Mortgage
Trust, some 27 per cent aid they are targeting the corporate
market.
This represents a doubling from the 14.4 per cent who said it was
this market they were aiming for at the start of 2007.
The trend can be attributed in part to landlords waking up to the
financial benefits that corporate tenants can offer, Mortgage Trust
managing director John Heron explained.
He said: "Corporate tenants offer landlords stability and they also
tend to pay above average rents because they demand high quality
properties and want the right locations for their employees.
"This market is going from strength to strength as more businesses
turn to the private rented sector to house employees that may have
to work on a short-term contract away from home or from another
country."
